Our staff is just like you!  Counselors range in age from 18 to 70+, in occupations from student to teacher to law enforcement to restaurant owners, from mothers to former campers to former directors, and they are all enthusiastic about making this week great for the girls!

Training
All the staff here at Two Sentinels have been rigorously trained to the American Camping Association standards. They are well-instructed in

• conflict resolution 
• leadership 
• the camper-counselor relationship, and 
• how to delicately treat any problems that a camper might have or that might arise. 
  

Every unit has a certified first-aider on staff, and backpacking and waterfront staff receive extra training.

Camp Names
Every counselor and staff member chooses a camp name to use during the session. This allows the counselors to forget about their usual worries and cares and take on a fresh outlook on life at camp! It also helps the campers relate to the staff, as the names are friendlier and oftentimes easier to remember than regular names.

Ratios
The average camper-to-staff ratio is 4:1. Backpacking units have a lower ratio than in-camp units.

Interested in becoming staff? You must be 19 or have completed a Girl Scout Counselor Training program. If you like children and the out-of-doors, give us a try! You must attend a day of new staff training in May and the regularly weekend staff training in June. Contact us if you are interested!
