PIONEERSold-time camp skillsLooking for a chance to improve your outdoor skills without going backpacking? Join the Pioneer unit! Spend your days learning how to build the perfect campfire, cook delicious outdoor meals, perfect your song-leading skills, lead younger campers, and design creative camp ceremonies. Pioneers also have plenty of time for regular camp activities like boating, swimming, archery, hiking, nature, astronomy, and crafts.
As an older girl at camp, Pioneers work on leadership and mentoring skills designed to help younger units learn and explore various topics, from basic wilderness skills to camp ceremonies and outdoor cooking. Pioneers also have the opportunity to plan and lead all-camp campfires and other all-camp activities. This unit is perfect for any girl who wants to expand her knowledge of the outdoors, improve her practical wilderness skills, and explore her leadership potential. It's also a perfect introduction to our OSB unit! Pioneers interact with camp management personnel more than most other units, so it's also a great opportunity to work with strong adults and professionals in the Girl Scout community. Looking for letters of recommendation for college, but can't devote two full sessions to camp? BECOME A PIONEER, and show us what you can do! |
